Behind walls built in 1403 stands Slovenia’s last active Carthusian monastery. Visitors may view the Gothic church with its medieval frescoes, watch a film on monastic life and stroll an open-air farm museum. The monastery shop offers Pleterje pear brandy, apple cider vinegar and honey – flavours as tranquil as the vineyard-lined hills outside.
