Take a stroll to the bank of the Savinja River and the famous Splavar statue, then cross the Splavarski Bridge. In no time you’ll find yourself in the City Park and the Celje City Forest, sheltered by tall trees. Where the Counts of Celje once traveled from Celje Castle into the city, today seven experiential-recreational trails and one educational-experiential path weave their way. The City Forest is flanked by the Miklavški and Anski hills, which you can quickly conquer on foot or by bike—the effort rewarded by a magnificent view. Besides running and cycling, you can also boost your heartbeat in the urban forest with an outdoor gym or a walk on any of the three trails. Children can burn off their energy at the playground while enjoying the fresh forest air.
