Strmol Manor, Rogatec

A Renaissance gem above a crafts-town

First recorded in 1436 as a feudal tower of the Counts of Celje, Strmol grew into a fortified Renaissance manor with a Baroque salon, a seventeenth-century chapel and a preserved dungeon. Restored in 2003, its fifteen rooms now host art shows, weddings, wine tastings and concerts; the terrace surveys the Sotla valley and Slovenia’s largest open-air museum just three hundred metres away.
