Rising above the Drava River, this 12th-century hilltop stronghold now shelters Ptuj-Ormož Regional Museum: priceless medieval tapestries, a dazzling Renaissance-Baroque armoury, the famous Kurent carnival masks and a collection of 19th-century salon pianos. From the terrace you gaze across Haloze vineyards and Ptuj’s red-tiled roofs, while summer evenings echo with concerts of the Arsana Festival.
