Liznjek Homestead

The Liznjek Homestead in Kranjska Gora is a perfectly preserved 17th‑century farmhouse, hailed as the archetype of a Slovene alpine house. Step through a stone arched portal beneath painted eaves into a smoky black kitchen, a paneled parlour with a carved 1781 rosette, and bedrooms furnished with brightly decorated chests, cradles and wall clocks. The loft displays carpenters’ and coopers’ tools; the barn shelters horse‑drawn wagons and threshing gear. Every room captures the comfort and ambition of a prosperous 19th‑century farming family.
