Inside the former bathhouse of Šoštanj’s iconic tannery, follow leather from hand-tanning in 1788 to high-speed drums of the 1990s. Some 500 artefacts include a steam-powered dye drum, precision gauges, a workers’ flat and the art-deco director’s office. Kids stamp their initials into a leather tag; grown-ups sample the fragrances once used to mask the tannery smell.
